Report a missed bin collection

  • Missed bin collections

There are several reasons why your bin or box may not have been emptied. This includes bins which are:

    • overfilled or where the lid isn’t fully closed
    • too heavy
    • contain the wrong items
    • damaged
    • have a large liner inside

In these cases, we will add a tag to your bin to explain why it has not been emptied. Follow the instructions on the tag so we can empty it on your next scheduled collection day. These collections are not considered as missed collections, and we will offer no return collection in these cases.

Other reasons why your bin or box may not have been collected include:

    • bad weather
    • a public holiday when collection times may be different – view holiday bin collections
    • problems with our bin lorry (for example, a breakdown)
    • issues getting access to your street, usually due to parked cars or restricted access – read more about what we’re doing to tackle this issue and how you can help us

You can report a missed collection after 7pm on your collection date.
